2018 British Open at Carnoustie Golf Links - 19-22 July  

July 2018 sees the British Open return to Carnoustie Golf Links, traditionally one of the tougherCarnoustie Golf Links courses on the British Open rota and at 7,421 yards if the wind blows Carnoustie really does live up to its billing of ‘Car-nasty’. Recent winners include Padraig Harrington in 2007 and who could ever forget Paul Lawrie snatching the famous Claret Jug from Jean Van de Velde back in 1999. Ben Hogan (1953) in his only ever appearance at the British Open and Tom Watson (1975) were hero’s from the past who lifted the Claret Jug at this famous old links. 2019 British Open at Royal Portrush Golf Club - 18-21 July

The only time the British Open was played outside the mainland UK was back in 1951 at Royal Portrush Golf Club when Max Faulkner emerged victorious. The 148th staging of the famous old championship returns across the Irish Sea to Northern Ireland in 2019 some 68 years later, but in recent times has there ever been a more eagerly anticipated British Open. The sporting mad Irish population will bring so much passion to this event making it a tournament where the warmth and hospitality of the locals may even rival the golf.
