The Old Course,
St Andrews
The oldest and most iconic golf course in the world. The Swilcan Bridge and Hell Bunker are recognised across the globe, yet the greatest feature of the Old Course is that despite its grand status it remains a public golf course, open to all.
Prestwick, Ayrshire
A simple stone cairn to the west of Prestwick’s clubhouse marks the spot where the first Open Championship tee shot was struck in 1860. It identifies the opening hole of the original 12-hole course and the place where modern golfing history began.
Royal Troon, Ayrshire
Tam Arte Quam Marte – as much by skill as by strength – is the Latin motto of Royal Troon Golf Club.
Its nine Open champions have had to outwit every bit as much as overpower this vintage Ayrshire links that dates back to the 19th century.
Muirfield,
East Lothian
One of the oldest golf clubs and a world famous course. Muirfield has a colourful history dating back to 1744 and today is renowned host to amateur and professionals tournaments, both nationally and internationally.
The Old Course Hotel, St Andrews
Bordering the renowned 17th Road Hole of the Old Course, the Old Course Hotel overlooks the famous links courses, the West Sands Beach and the beautiful Scottish coastline. This prestigious AA Five Star-awarded hotel is recognised as one of Europe’s leading resorts. The Old Course Hotel features a combination of classically elegant and contemporary interiors, and French designer Jacques Garcia designed many of the hotel’s suites. Located just a short stroll from the historic university town of St Andrews.
Trump Turnberry
Trump Turnberry is long legendary for its iconic Edwardian luxury hotel overlooking its famous links golf courses in an enchanting coastal setting, with ocean views of Ailsa Craig and the Isle of Arran.
